Notes

This tool is used to manage unique identifiers for users. A unique identifier is any form of letters and numbers that can uniquely identify a user within an administrative zone. These identifiers can be used by resource managers to search for the users they want to add to access lists. For example, student ID numbers, payroll numbers, course enrolment numbers and library card codes are all types of unique identifier.

A primary unique identifier is one that can be used to identify people when you create user records for them on this system. You can select categories of person to go with a primary unique identifier and when user records are created the users will automatically be added to the membership of appropriate groups.

It is important that you thoroughly understand the purpose and function of unique identifiers before using this tool.
